Dresden is well-connected by international day and night trains to many European cities. There are direct trains to many German cities, as well as international trains to Brussels, Amsterdam, Prague, Budapest, Copenhagen and many more.
Train journeys with one connection are possible from many italian cities, Paris as well as some French cities, Poland, Romania and Croatia.
If you prefer to fly, Dresden does have a small airport, but schedules are poor and airfares often high. We recommend using Berlin Airport or Frankfurt Airport. Both airports are well-serviced from all of Europe and are directly connected to Dresden by high-speed train.

Those flying to Dresden are recommended to use the S-Bahn, a commuter train running between Dresden airport and the central station.
In Dresden, late summers are usually warm but bearable. Expect 20-25 °C. As rain might always appear, you might want to prepare for that as well.
